Trick-or-Treat!

Jack's first Halloween was celebrated at Karen and Don's house with a bowl of chili, a few trick-or-treaters, and a very sleepy and somewhat grumpy baby Jack in his Halloween outfit. Even Ellen dressed up for the occasion. Katelyn June stopped by to entertain us as a walking pumpkin and by the end of the night, Jack was worn out. At least we won't have to deal with the sugar rush from all the candy for a few more years!

Jack and his Mom

After a long morning taking pictures, Jack was worn out. We managed to get a few pictures of the two of us before he settled in for a nap.

Jack's First Photo Shoot

Laine came to Corinth this weekend and took some professional pictures of Jack in some of his dressy outfits. These are some of the best ones. He tolerated us for about 3 outfit changes and then he had clearly had enough.

Splish! Splash! Jack was taking a bath!

Here it is . . . The first bath!

Jack's First Smiles

There is a very limited window of opportunity in Jack's day for some smiles. It is between the 9:00 AM feeding and the 12:00 noon feeding. This video was taken during that time. I always tell him that it's a good thing his smiley time is in the morning because it helps me forget about the night before! I just about melt when I see his toothless grin . . . I predict you will too!

Sharing Space

Life with Jack continues on Willow Road. Jack has taken only wanting to sleep if someone is holding him. The way I understand it, most babies are like this. Sunday afternoon and Monday morning were all about Jack and his dad. We watched a few episodes of Dirty Jobs. Feeling thoroughly inspired, Jack then had several dirty jobs of his own. It is as if he looked at me and said "I'm Jack Frame.. and this is my job" We went on a long walk, stopping a few minutes so that he could see his grandmother. Paige is finally getting into a routine and I am enjoying the time that I get to spend with my new buddy.

Ellen has taken great interest in Jack. It seems to bother her when he cries. While Jack was taking a nap in his crib, I was in another part of the house (with the baby monitor in hand) when he started to wake up. Ellen promptly started searching for someone to herd in there and take care of him. It is promising that they will be pals one day.

Although she might tell you that Jack has displaced her somewhat, you can see from the pictures below that only displacement that has occured is that she has a little less room on the couch these days. We are all learning to share our time and space with Jack and we couldn't be happier about it.

The Many Faces of Jack

Ellen and Jack

Just in case you are wondering how Ellen is doing . . . She actually has stopped pouting and has started to accept Jack as one of the sheep in her flock. She stays in the room when he crys and looks at me as if to say "Can't you hear that he needs your help? Make him feel better!" All in all, it has been a smooth transition. - Paige
