Happy First Birthday Kate!

What a fun day! On Wednesday, Kate turned one and we had a great day celebrating with her. We started off the day with waffles, a trip to the grocery store for some balloons, lunch at McDonalds with John, and a trip to the toy store for a special treat. Jack and I made cupcakes to have after dinner and Jack "helped" Kate open a few presents. I am amazed at how much she has grown in a year's time and how independent she is becoming. I have said many times that if I could freeze time, I would freeze it right now. John and I are so blessed to have Jack and Kate and feel even more blessed at the number of friends and family who care for our children as well. Many thanks for all the Birthday wishes!

Now if you need us, we'll be outside enjoying the 64 degree weather in January! Have a great weekend!

Snow Days 2011

Six to eight inches of beautiful powdery white snow; two days with John home from work; a roaring fire in the fireplace four days in a row; hot chocolate and "snores" as Jack calls them; two snowmen (one named Olive) and a snow fort; sledding down the hill in the back yard; Megan having a blast in the snow; riding around seeing Corinth covered in snow; wet socks drying on the fire screen; mittens, hats, boots, and scarves. I have had the perfect snow weekend. I hope you have too!

Jack's first piano tune

Of course, it is the Mickey mouse clubhouse theme song. He's been practicing this for a while.
