Sleeping late, watching various marathons on TV, a smoker full of ribs and chicken, swimming with friends (well . . . watching friends swim . . . see picture above), dinner with family, and a new game that Jack found hysterical.
Only Aunts would think of buying a 300 count bag of Dum-Dums and scattering them all over the floor just to see the look on Jack's face! This was the first thing Jack saw upon arriving in Birmingham last weekend. He was delighted!
So we haven't seen the puppies yet, but I will let you know as soon as we do.
Today, we visited a local nursery and there were a couple of dogs that captured Jack's attention. And not to mention all sorts of flowers, which he LOVES. In the first part of the video, you'll see how excited he gets when he remembers what we did.
The video is kind of long, but there is nothing sweeter than watching a baby play and seeing the expressions on his face. I won't be offended if you don't watch the whole thing . . . actually, I won't even know if you don't!
You'll notice when he starts to play with Noah's Ark that he has already picked out his favorite animals. He is slightly afraid of the monkey, but loves the sheep, lions, and dove (he gives each one a kiss before putting it down). He is somewhat confused as to why there are two zebra, and he is so not interested in the giraffe.
The "Oh Woah" is Jack's signature phrase. He says it every time he gets excited about something.
Jack's first offical school picture is a success! He goes to Mom's Day out at our church two days a week while I help John at the store and he LOVES it! Today when John dropped him off, Jack was so excited to see Mrs. Lisa (one of his teachers). So she picked him up and said "blow Daddy a kiss bye-bye." Instead of doing that, Jack turned to Mrs. Lisa and kissed her on the cheek. What a sweet boy! (Click on the picture to enlarge)
All of this rain has produced some fun puddles . . .
Jack has developed a fascination with ladybugs recently and he finds them everywhere! He followed one all around the garden yesterday talking to it the whole time. His favorite book right now has a ladybug on every page that he points to without fail. So imagine Jack's surprise when we pull up to the bank today and park next to a red VW beetle with black polka dots painted all over the car. He squealed and started talking a mile a minute. I know he was thinking "that is the biggest ladybug I've ever seen!"
