We've reached a milestone

For the past year and a half, I have heard a constant refrain. "Mom, will you play with me?" or "C'mon Mom, play trains with me." or "Mom, read this book to me." and "Mom, play outside with me." I have had a constant companion in Jack and we have played ALOT.

Today, we decided to build a tunnel leading to his tent and you would have thought I had created a million dollar play fort. Jack has entertained himself all afternoon with one major difference. Mom has been replaced by Kate. I knew it would happen one day and I have to say, I'm lovin' it!

Today I've heard . . .

"Kate, let's go on an adventure" and "Kate, let's go explore" and "C'mon Kate"

* sigh *

Now where did I put those bonbons?

(By the way, Kate is eating up all of this attention from big brother!)

Garden Day 2011

Garden Day was this past weekend and I am so excited to have a garden again. I take a break through the winter months, but it just wouldn't feel like spring if I didn't have vegetables to tend to. Jack has been looking forward to this day for weeks as well! We planted five tomato plants, cucmbers, three kinds of peppers, six different herbs, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, carrots, radishes, and lettuce.

Jack was too busy to stop for pictures but Kate was willing to pose for a few. Later on jack said "I wish it was garden day every day!"

More pictures coming throughout the growing season
