Jack and his puppets

Today after lunch, Jack and I played with his puppets that I made him for Christmas. Since his attention span is about 5 seconds, there are no elaborate plays being produced. Right now, we are just working on animal names and sounds. He loves the monkey and gives it kisses every time he gets close and I think I heard him say "roar" when I asked him what the lion says. Mostly Jack just likes to crawl through the curtain at full speed like a bull (we have learned the hard way to make sure the door to the living room is open, not closed, when he charges through!)

This is a closeup of the puppets I spent hours upon hours making. I had originally seen them in a catalog and thought "I can totally make these and save money by doing it myself!" After the second week of spending several hours a night working on these 7 puppets, I started to question my original decision. You can't tell from the picture, but there is ALOT of detail that went into each animal. Looking back, I am so glad I stuck with it. And I actually saved about $60! The doorway theater was Mother's design and it was simple to put together. The rest of it is still on the ironing board waiting to be assembled, but the final product will have a top curtain with tiebacks and everything!
