oh, she's just teething . . .

My children are always teething. It's my favorite catch all excuse for any grumpy behavior. Jack started teething at 6 months old (it was a little strange, though, that the tooth didn't pop out until he was 11 months old . . . hmmm)

I have often said we will have the following conversation when Jack and Kate are older:

Jack at 13: Mom, I cannot believe you won't let me go over to so-and-so's house! You are ruining my life!!!

Paige to John: Oh don't worry about him, he's just teething.

Now that Jack has all of his baby teeth, I have to put the teething explaination on hold until his teeth start falling out in a few years. Kate, on the other hand, is at prime teething age and she is indeed teething. This time, I have proof! Three white teeth are just below the surface of her top gums. You wouldn't know it by her behavior because she is so even tempered. She's just slightly grumpy every now and then (what a good baby!) So what do you do for sore gums? Make smoothies!! Kate LOVED it as did the rest of us!
